The little chart behind it all
Letters become numbers.
Find a letter in the right column. Its number is on the left. That’s all there is to it.
| Number | Letters |
|---|---|
| 1 | A I J Q Y |
| 2 | B K R |
| 3 | C G L S |
| 4 | D M T |
| 5 | E H N X |
| 6 | U V W |
| 7 | O Z |
| 8 | F P |
Let’s try DONALD.
D = 4, O = 7, N = 5, A = 1, L = 3, D = 4.
4 + 7 + 5 + 1 + 3 + 4 = 24 → 2 + 4 = 6.
24 is the compound number. 6 is the root number. If a total is above 52, we add its digits until it reaches 52 or below, then reduce it to one digit for the root.
What about 9?
9 is treated as sacred in the Chaldean tradition and is not assigned to any letter. It can still appear when we add up or reduce a name.
Spaces, numbers, and symbols are ignored. For the inner-self total, the vowels are A, E, I, O, U. Y is counted as a consonant.
